Cover
You are to design a cover for your portfolio. The cover must have a TITLE approriate to high technology on it; your name and your period must also be on it. Your cover must contain graphics relating to high technology. The cover may be secured to the front of your portfolio, or it may be placed as the first page in your portfolio.
Table of Contents
The next page to your cover, should be your portfolio Table of Contents. It must contain the Title, "Table of Contents". Besides the title, this page needs to list Application Areas and Focus Areas plus projects you have done during the quarter. It must also include the Introduction, project evaluations, the Z Credit section and the Glossary section. Each page listed, must have a page number on the Table of Contents page as well as on itself.
Introduction
The Introduction page must be titled "Introduction". On this page you will discuss what your quarter goals for Computer ED Class were. You will also discuss how you met and/or did not meet your goals and why. In discussing your goals and whether you met them or not, refer to work you have done in class during the quarter. This page may be letter format if you wish, i.e., "Dear Ms. Lees.," but it need not be.
Applications Sections
Each application area you have worked in, must have a title page labeled for that application area. For example, if you have done a wordprocessing project, then you will need to have a wordprocessing title page. The title page must contain a definition of what that application area is. It must also have a graphic illustrating the application area on it. Next to the title page of an application area, you need to place your project grade sheets and a short paragraph evaluation page for each project. Be sure to title your project evaluation pages after the projects they belong to.
EXAMPLES of APPLICATIONS AREAS: wordprocessing, database, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, graphics, presentation & multimedia, telecommunications, network.
Focus Area Sections
A Focus Area is a senario on a specific topic that involves more than one project. For example, creating a web page may involve projects in several application areas such as wordprocessing, scanning, digital photography and FTP in addition to the web page project itself.
You must have a title page for each Focus Area in which you have chosen to work. This title page must be titled after the Focus Area you have worked in. It must also contain graphics related to the Focus Area. Moreover, it needs to contain an objective for the Focus Area. For example, you may choose to create a web page on the Inca Indians. In that case, your Focus Area title page may be titled, "Web Page: Inca Indians". The objective could be: To create a web page on the Inca Indians. Next to each Focus Area title page, you will place all your work and project grade sheets for projects involved in creating the web page.
EXAMPLES of FOCUS AREAS: a web page, presentation, newsletter/paper, book, conference [audio, video and /or text] or audiostream in and/or across content areas such as history, civics, math, science, English, music, fine arts, high technologies.
Z Credit Section
Create a title page for this section titled, "Z Credit". Describe what Z Credit is. Create a graphic that tells something about what Z Credit is. Next to this title page, put all your Z Credit grade sheets.
Glossary
Create a title page for this section and title it "Glossary". Place a graphic on the title page. The graphic should tell us something either about what a glossary is or about computer terms. In your glossary you will select 30 computer terms per quarter and write sentences using them. Do NOT give definitions for these terms!
